The Tower of Babel in our Midst

The story of the Tower of Babel is well-known and discussed in church circles and Bible study, but many don’t realize its theme still reaches into the heart of our nation. In fact, this story isn’t just a theme in our nation right now, it’s actually playing out in front of our very eyes. Let’s see what Genesis 11 says:

“Now the whole world had one language and a common speech.  As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar.  Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.”

 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”

 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth, and they stopped building the city. That is why it was called Babel—because there the Lord confused the language of the whole world. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.”

THEY BUILT WITH BRICK INSTEAD OF STONE

I want you to notice something many people might overlook in this story. It says THEY USED BRICKS INSTEAD OF STONE. Maybe this doesn’t seem important, but it holds great meaning.

The Tower of Babel was made with bricks created by man. Bricks have several characteristics. Firstly, they are not natural. They are made by man and are thus artificial. You can’t go into nature and find a brick!

Secondly, bricks are made so they have a uniform length, width and height. They can be placed in rows and columns and they will appear identical to one another.

Thirdly, bricks are interchangeable and homogeneous. They are not unique.

Fourth, bricks are not valuable. No one collects bricks for their value. They are used to build and that’s about it. They are also easy to replace.

So, looking at these characteristics, we can make some assumptions about how the people building the Tower of Babel were living. First of all, they were using material created by MAN. The bricks were made and formed by them.

Next, the bricks they used were ALL THE SAME. These bricks had no originality, but CONFORMED to a given standard. With the loss of individuality and the focus on conformity, the role of each person was seen more as a means to an end. Their lives and roles were interchangeable because they were all seen as THE SAME.

Unfortunately, because everyone was seen as THE SAME, and no one was viewed as an individual, the value of each person degraded. People became WORTHLESS.

Do you see where I’m going here?

Those who were building the Tower of Babel were building for man, and because of this the people became worthless, especially to those who were in charge of the building.

What does God say about building with “the bricks of man”? Well, we can see in the story that God was not happy! This is why he scattered them and confused their language. He saw that when everyone worked as ONE under MAN, much evil would arise. God would not allow this to continue.

The Tower of Babel= One World Government

Essentially, the Tower of Babel was the first attempt at a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT. They were all speaking the same language and working as a team to make themselves higher than God. They wanted to make a NAME FOR THEMSELVES instead of God. They wanted their tower to reach to the heavens not to give glory to God, but to THEMSELVES.

The Bible tells us not to build with “brick”, but to build with STONE!

“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ,” 1 Corinthians 3:11.

“…..having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit,” Ephesians 2:20-22.

“My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved…” Psalm 62:5,6.

JESUS IS THE ROCK: THE SURE FOUNDATION

The meaning of stone and foundation in these verses is referring to Jesus Christ, not man. Everything we build must be upon him- he is the only true, firm foundation. Following man’s building instructions is equivalent to building a house on sand.

At the Tower of Babel, ALL THINGS WERE THE SAME. CONFORMITY WAS ESSENTIAL.

But, God says something different:

“If then any man is in Christ, he is a new creature:  the former things have passed away; behold, they are made new!”  2 Corinthians 5:17

Like a butterfly, we are meant to fly. God gives us individual talents and drives and we are suppossed to use them to thrive. This doesn’t mean we don’t follow rules! It doesn’t mean we don’t cooperate with others. It means we are not forced to conform to the mold of the world and to the mold of man.

This leads me to what we are facing TODAY.

The Tower of Babel 2020

I am sorry to say this, but I see the Tower of Babel being built right now, here in 2020. My eyes are wide open as I see how freedoms are being taken in the wake of Covid-19 and the civil unrest in our nation.

We are being forced to mask up and shut up. If you don’t see this you may want to read one of my earlier posts. I won’t go through all of the ways we are being controlled in this blog so that’s why you might want to read that post. Click here if you would like to read this post called Behind the Mask.

As the months pass, I am seeing the mask mandate everywhere I go- the store, offices, restaurants and all public places. Some people say this is all for safety. I’m sorry, but this is not all for safety. This is an agenda of the One World Government to gain control over us. I am posting a few podcasts below that you can listen to if you don’t know what I’m talking about.

All this constant talk of safety reminds me of a verse from 1 Thessalonians 5:3-

“While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.”

Haven’t you noticed the signs in the store windows, offices, etc always say “for your safety, masks are required” ?????

I’m not saying the virus isn’t real. I’m not saying it isn’t dangerous to your health. I am saying there is an agenda behind it all that’s meant to create fear, panic and mandate more control over our lives. There is also an agenda behind the social justice movements we are seeing played out.

In just a few months we have been told where we can go. Our schools have been shut down. Churches are being told not to meet, and in some cases they are told not to sing in church! The media is censoring the truth. Medical doctors are being silenced. Those who don’t agree with the rhetoric of Black Lives Matter are being called racists or being censored. Anyone who tries to share anything that deviates from the “script” of COVID-19 or the social justice narrative is banned from Facebook and other platforms.

Doctors are warning of the dangers of the COVID-19 vaccine, which contains aborted fetal cells, cancer cells and dangerous metals. Also, animal trials have been skipped, making anyone who takes it a guinea pig. I highly suggest watching the video link below to see what’s in vaccines and to get more info about COVID-19.

We have elite agendas moving forward, headed by the very wealthy Bill Gates, who promotes everyone receiving a digital ID by 2020. Not only this, he has been pushing vaccines as the solution to the COVID-19 crisis. Gates has put millions into vaccine research and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is knee deep in making sure a vaccine is ready to use. He is currently funding research that would allow for “markers” to be placed into people through vaccinations.

A recent article in USA Today touted the recommendations of three doctors by the names of Dr. Michael Lederman, Maxwell J Mehlman and Stuart Youngner. Here is a link to that article if you want to read it.

Here is some of what they wrote:

“To win the war against the novel coronavirus that has killed nearly 163,000 people in this country, the only answer is compulsory vaccination — for all of us.”

The doctors believe a coronavirus vaccine should be mandatory, and tax penalties, higher insurance premiums, and denial of many government and private services ought to be considered for those refusing the shot. Below is straight from the article:

“Vaccine refusers could lose tax credits or be denied nonessential government benefits. Health insurers could levy higher premiums for those who by refusing immunization place themselves and others at risk, as is the case for smokers. Private businesses could refuse to employ or serve unvaccinated individuals. Schools could refuse to allow unimmunized children to attend classes. Public and commercial transit companies — airlines, trains and buses — could exclude refusers. Public and private auditoriums could require evidence of immunization for entry.”

These doctors go on to say that taking a vaccine is a patriotic duty!

People, are you concerned? Are you awake? This is not right!

My patriotic duty? Duty to who? THE ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT???? Usually I don’t use curse words in my blogs but HELL NO! This is not a patriotic duty.

What’s scary is that in this same article these doctors say:

“exempt only those with medical contraindications to immunization. It is likely that more than one vaccine platform will prove effective and, as a result, medical conditions that prohibit all COVID-19 vaccines will be rare.”

In the article they also say there will be NO RELIGIOUS OBJECTIONS, and no personal objections.

Are you concerned yet? Are you praying?

These doctors also wrote about a “registry of immunization” where people would receive “certification cards” with expiration dates.

The craziest thing is that the doctors go on to compare those who would refuse the vaccine to draft dodgers during both world wars. They claim getting the vaccine is necessary and “no one is allowed to opt out merely because it conflicts with a sense of autonomy.”

Wow! I just want to say I am shocked to the core at the blatant misuse of power described in this article!

An article in the Scientific American reveals some chilling information below:

“Along with the vaccine, a child would be injected with a bit of dye that is invisible to the naked eye but easily seen with a special cell-phone filter, combined with an app that shines near-infrared light onto the skin. The dye would be expected to last up to five years, according to tests on pig and rat skin and human skin in a dish.”

Do you want to guess who funded this research? I’ll just put the quote from the article below:

“The work was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and came about because of a direct request from Microsoft founder and philanthropist Bill Gates himself, who has been supporting efforts to wipe out diseases such as polio and measles across the world, Jaklenec says.”

Also in April, Gates stated “Eventually, we will have some digital certificates to show who has recovered or been tested recently or when we have a vaccine who has received it.”

There are other ways to show you’ve been vaccinated, as described in the video link above from Dr. Carrie Medej.

There is an enzyme called Luciferase. No I didn’t make the name up! Ugh, are you thinking what I’m thinking? Lucifer….AKA Satan! Anyway, Luciferase has bioluminescent qualities. It could be placed under the skin through the vaccination process. An iPhone can be used to scan over the area and be able to see if you were vaccinated. A bar code or ID/number is part of this process as well.

THERE IS AN AGENDA OUT THERE AND YOU NEED TO KNOW IT IS NOT OF GOD- IT IS FROM MAN. LIKE THE TOWER OF BABEL, THEY ARE TRYING TO BUILD THEIR KINGDOM, BUT THOSE WHO KNOW THE WORD OF GOD ARE WISE. WE FOLLOW THE BUILDER OF STONE- THE ROCK- JESUS! WE DON’T FOLLOW THE BRICK LAYERS.

As I’ve blogged about before, this is all tied to a GREAT ECONOMIC RESET.

Klaus Schwab, the Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum, is quoted as saying, “We must build entirely new foundations for our economic and social systems.”

Their goal is to reset the economy as well as the governmental systems of the world. One of their main goals is to change America economically. The stage is being set right now with riots, anti-American campaigns, and a scathing liberal agenda. This is all meant to damage our infrastructure and economy.

The truth is that this was planned from the beginning. You can even go on this link and see how a simulation of the pandemic played out just a few months before COVID-19 struck. This pandemic simulation, called Event 201, took place on October 18, 2019 in New York City. I just happened to be in New York City the week after this. No wonder I had an eerie feeling while I was there!

I’m not trying to scare you. I’m just telling you they are building the tower. They are laying the bricks.

THE TOWER OF BABEL IS BEING BUILT- IT’S TIME TO PRAY

I just feel Christians need to know what’s really going on. We need to intercede and pray, as well as stand against the darkness. We also need to know what’s going on in our nation and be aware of the agenda against the Kingdom of God.

FIRES IN CALIFORNIA

Have you been checking the news lately? Are you aware California is experiencing the worst outbreak of fires in their history? Over 12,000 lightning strikes are causing blazes that are uncontrollable. This is all happening in a very liberal state with a governor that forbids people to sing in church. That same governor said,”Crews were fighting 560 fires across the state, many of them sparked by lightning storms, straining resources to the breaking point.”

By the way, lightning in the Bible is tied to God and his power.

Job 36:32 says:
“He fills his hands with lightning and commands it to strike its mark.”

 Samuel 22:15
“He shot arrows and scattered the enemies , bolts of lightning and routed them.”

Psalm 97:4
“His lightning lights up the world; the earth sees and trembles.”

Hmm, I’d think twice about disobeying God’s commands.

I saw two trees struck by lightning recently. Luckily, these trees survived, but you could see how the lightning left its mark. In the case of one tree, it left a long charred streak, while the other had its bark blown off. All I can say is that I wouldn’t want to be in the path of a lightning bolt!

As I heard one pastor say regarding the COVID-19 situation…….., “There’s something wrong when you want to shut down churches, but keep abortion clinics open.”

The Builders of the Tower of Babel are Hell-bent on bringing down our nation. Their goal is to unite all nations together. This sounds all warm and fuzzy, but it’s the plan of wolves in sheep’s clothing. God does not want all nations meshing together. He designed all kinds of people to be part of unique, diverse nations who are united under Christ, not under man. When all the nations unite under one ” global power” that allows evil to go unchecked. The nations are meant to be separate in order to act as a check and balance system. The same concept goes for mankind. All power in one man’s hands is asking for totalitarianism. The only one we can trust with “all power” is Jesus!

9-11 AND THE TOWER OF BABEL

When the Twin Towers fell on 9-11, a gigantic hole dubbed the Pit was left behind. This pit was filled with debris, ash, metal and water. To be more specific, it was “a 16 acre, 70 foot deep hole in the heart of Lower Manhattan.” For eight months, crews worked in the Pit, looking through scorched rubble, searching for bodies and answers.

During this process, many pictures were taken. I have a book that shows photographs from Ground Zero, taken by New York City photographer Gary Suson. He began shooting photos the morning of September 11. He continued until the site was cleared. He was given access to document the work of the recovery crew and firefighters. As he took pictures of the scene, he came upon some chilling finds.

On page 108 of the book, I saw a photo that left me feeling quite unsettled. The page is titled, “MESSAGE IN THE ASHES.” Below is a quote from the page of the book- Requiem: Images of Ground Zero.

“It was the last few days of January and I was standing near the North Tower area conversing with an FDNY Chief, when I noticed some charred papers on the edge of a steep incline. Separating me from the papers was a Jersey barrier, erected to keep workers away from the dangerous drop-off……. I shot only three frames. The first was of a charred letter from the police headquarters. Barely sticking out from under the letter were some cream-colored papers. When I lifted the police letter, I found there were a few wet and charred pages from the Bible. the Bible itself was nowhere to be found…………I leaned over quickly, shot two photographs…………The next day I got the proof sheets back and nearly fell off my chair when I saw the page facing me was Genesis 11, the Tower of Babylon..…”

This information comes loaded with a message!

The Twin Towers fell and were eventually made into ONE TOWER. What were they building at the Tower of Babel? ONE TOWER! Just a little side note, did you know that on June 14, 2012 Barack and Michelle Obama signed one of the last steel beams that would go in the new tower- ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER! The message signed on the beam said: “We remember, we rebuild, and we come back stronger!”

Instead of this message of defiance, we need a message of REPENTANCE. We cannot come back stronger in man’s strength! We need Jesus as our cornerstone.

Finding Genesis 11 at Ground Zero, which highlights MAN BUILDING HIS TOWER TO HIMSELF AND HIS GREATNESS, is a clear message. This nation needs to turn to Jesus! We need the ROCK, not towers!

Also, did you notice where this page of the Bible was found? It says, “when I lifted the police letter, I found there were a few wet and charred pages from the Bible.” A charred letter from POLICE HEADQUARTERS was found on top of the Genesis 11 page! Is your mind spinning? I am thinking of how the ONE WORLD AGENDA is trying to destroy our police departments! Right now in cities like Portland, Minneapolis and Seattle, they are trying to defund the police. It makes me so upset. I love and appreciate police officers!

The attack on the Twin Towers on 9-11 was a wake up call to America! The One World Government is setting up shop. They are targeting us with the COVID-19 virus. They are using social justice to create chaos. They are targeting our police, churches and the foundations of our nation. They are trying to push Jesus out of our foundation by replacing him with secularism and communism.

The page of the Bible from Genesis 11 was found near a dangerous drop off.

America is standing near a dangerous drop-off right now. If she decides to go the way of liberalism and anti-God policies, she will fall off the cliff. As a nation if we are supporting abortion, gay marriage and transgenderism, we are not standing with the principles of the Bible. If we let money be our God and social media be our guide, we are heading for a rude awakening. The Grand Canyon is the next stop if we push God out of our schools and if we don’t teach our children to love the Lord. Binge watching Netflix isn’t going to give our children the values they need to follow God. The media is full of sex, the occult and just plain brainwashing. It’s time to pray and intercede.

We cannot look to politics to solve our spiritual problems. Yes, we should elect leaders that stand with biblical principles, but in the end WE MUST REPENT AS A NATION AND AS INDIVIDUALS. WE ALSO HAVE TO SPEAK THE TRUTH TO OTHERS ABOUT JESUS. It’s time to tell others about Jesus and his return.

Truth be told, we may need to prepare for the worst no matter who wins the elections. The division in our nation is so great, the Titanic may have already hit the iceberg. The spiritual Civil War is in full swing. It is possible we could see a physical one as well. I’m not trying to be negative. I just know we are in prophetic times right now and I would be ready for anything.

PARALLELS TO THE JOHNSTOWN FLOOD

Recently I was praying and an image of the Johnstown Flood kept coming to mind. If you’ve never heard of it let me give you some background.

The storm began on Memorial Day 1889, and continued through the night. By May 31, the rising water from Lake Conemaugh breached the South Fork Dam. This sent twenty million tons of water rushing through the Conemaugh Valley at 40 miles per hour. A gigantic wall of water destroyed anything in its path. At one point the wall of water towered at over 60 feet tall. The wall of water soon turned into a wall of dangerous debris as it picked up houses, railroad cars, barbed wire and even farm animals. In some communities even the topsoil and subsoil was washed away and only bedrock was left. The flood came in with the force of Niagara Falls. By the time the flood was over, 2,209 people were dead. Ninety-nine whole families died. At least 400 children under the age of ten were killed. I’m not going to tell you all the gory details- and let me tell you, there are a lot. I’ve only skimmed the surface.

The Johnstown Flood would become one of the worst natural disasters ever seen in the United States. It had the largest loss of life in a single day until the 9-11 attacks took place in 2001.

The sad part about this terrible flood is that it was preventable. The dam was not maintained properly so when the rains fell and the pressure built, the dam gave way.

The South Fork Fishing Club was responsible for maintaining the dam. This club hosted many of the rich elite such as steel magnate Andrew Carnegie and Henry Clay Frick. The club’s caretaker had urged the members to maintain the dam. Spillways needed to be repaired, and gateways needed to be cleaned. The wealthy members of this club did not want to spend the money to maintain and care for the dam so they ignored the problem. They didn’t think about the communities below the dam. After all, if the dam broke the rich club members wouldn’t be harmed. It would be the middle class and poorer communities who would suffer.

The dam broke. Tragedy swept through the towns below in the blink of an eye.

The devastation was mind-boggling. It was a lot like Ground Zero. Many wondered where to start. How would they begin to clean the wreckage?

CLARA BARTON ARRIVES

Clara Barton, nurse and Founder/ President of the American Red Cross, arrived in Johnstown on June 5, 1889, five days after the flood. For five months she stayed to help the relief effort. She had been a hospital nurse in the Civil War, and her knowledge was crucial in helping organize workers and nurses.

Her efforts in both the Civil War and the Johnstown Flood will long be remembered. Interestingly enough, she died on April 12, 1912. I find the date she passed away quite compelling. Why you ask? Because she died on the anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War. It began on April 12, 1861 at Ft. Sumter, South Carolina, exactly 51 years earlier. Also, she died in 1912, just three days before the Titanic sank.

And why is that important? To me, it’s the symbolism. Here we are – the United States of America, and we are in a civil war of our own. The divide between political parties, and between those who stand with God and those who don’t is massive.

Interestingly enough June 16, 1858. Lincoln made his famous HOUSE DIVIDED speech at the Republican convention in Springfield, Illinois. At the time, he was running for the U.S. Senate. The Civil War had not yet broken out, but the divide was getting wider and wider in the nation regarding the issue of slavery. Lincoln gave this famous speech, knowing war was coming if the issue wasn’t settled.

“A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved—I do not expect the house to fall—but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other.”

Lincoln’s inspiration for his June 16 speech came from a verse in the Bible- Mark 3:25, which says, “If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” The truth is, Lincoln knew the country would be divided on slavery. He knew the country had to unite in order to stand. The country, in this case, had to put aside their differences and do what is right- the abolishment of slavery.

Interestingly enough, Donald Trump announced he was running for President on June 16, 2015-  This was exactly 157 years after Lincoln made his “A Housed Divided” speech on June 16, 1858.

Before Trump announced his presidency, a blood moon had occurred on April 4, 2015, falling on Passover. Another blood moon would follow on September 28, 2015. So, these blood moons fell before and after this announcement. During Donald Trump’s presidency, we have seen a great divide between political parties. Tension in this nation has never been higher. There are those who stand for biblical principles and the freedom this nation fought for. But there are those who reject God and call for the transformation of America- socialism is their God. They believe in social slavery.

Whether you like Donald Trump or not, you should consider these things. The Democratic Party aligns itself with abortion, gay marriage, illegal immigration, over-regulation, riots and violence, defunding the police and suppressing freedom of religion and speech. Trump is certainly not perfect, but he does not promote or support the things I just listed. He is also the ONLY PRESIDENT who recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital and is considered one of the most pro-life Presidents we’ve ever had since Roe vs. Wade.

The divide right now is bigger than the ripped hull of the Titanic.

I find the date of the Johnstown Flood quite telling as well. The storm that led to the breaking of the dam began on Memorial Day, 1889. Flash forward to Memorial Day 2020 and a different kind of storm was taking place. George Floyd’s death on Memorial Day sparked riots, looting, and a movement to defund the police. While his death was tragic, the response to it did nothing to promote peace or healing. Instead, it brought dangerous waves of hate and violence that mimics a flood that ravaged Johnstown Pennsylvania 131 years ago. In 1889 the flood demolished towns and lives. The social unrest and riots and lawlessness we are seeing right now is demolishing cities like Portland, Seattle and Minneapolis. What cities are next?

Most can feel a flood is coming. Something very big, dangerous and overwhelming is lurking in the water. A wall of debris is moving toward us and it seems there’s no way to stop it. This wall of debris is getting larger by the day. The powerful rich and elite (players of the One World Government) are behind the evil and chaos. They don’t care about everyday Americans. They don’t care about Christians. They care about building their tower. Like the South Fork Fishing Club, they could care less about when the dam breaks. Their plan is to sit pretty in their tall tower and move their plans forward.

Well I’ve got news for them! God has their number and he has a plan. There are a lot of “Sarah Bartons” out there. There are those who will go into the Flood to help people. There are those who will stand up for freedom in the midst of tyranny.

THE RED CROSS

The Red Cross brought relief to the traumatized citizens of Johnstown. But guess what? We have the blood of Jesus and the Red Cross of Christ to defend and take care of us. No matter what evil is thrown our way, we have Jesus walking on the water- walking in the flood for us.

We may see damage. We may see debris, fires, wreckage and flood waters. But, we will also see him. The Son of God- Jesus Christ. We will see him.

No, I don’t know the day or the hour. But, I know the signs.

The more we see the evil around us, the more we know there is good within us. This good comes from our only righteousness- Jesus Christ.

 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap. For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.  Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21: 34-36.

Pray that you may be able to ESCAPE.

These verses remind us there’s a day coming when some will escape. The Tribulation will come, but there is hope. Those who belong to Christ will escape the coming wrath.

How do we stand before the SON OF MAN? We have his blood on our foreheads. We are sealed with the promised Holy Spirit. That is how we stand right now and that is how we will stand before him on that day.

Ephesians 1:11-14 lays out this truth for you:

“In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,  in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.  And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,  who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

And guess what??????????? HE IS COMING BACK!

THE GREAT ESCAPE

Some people were able to escape the Johnstown Flood. Not everyone perished. Do you know where they went?

THEY CLIMBED ON THEIR ROOFS. SOME RAN TO HIGHER GROUND. THEY HEADED FOR THE HILLS. THEY RAN UPWARD.

That’s what we will do one day.

“In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed” 1 Corinthians 15:52

Yes, a flood is coming. But we are going uphill. We are going home to be with Jesus! He is taking us to the marriage supper.

Luke 17:26-36 is very revealing:

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

 “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.  But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

 “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.  Remember Lot’s wife!  Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.” 

The verse says, “on that day no one who is on the housetop (ROOF), with possessions inside, should go down and get them.”

The people on the rooftops in Johnstown didn’t have time to go get their things out of their house when the flood came through. To go back down into the house would have meant certain death!

The same is true when Jesus comes back at the Rapture. If you hold on to your things- your house- your possessions- your worldly pleasures- then you will not be able to hold on to Jesus. You have to let those things go and hold on to him.

“My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever,” Psalm 73:26.

The word PORTION in this verse is the Hebrew word chalaq, which means territory, equal portion and separation. This is the word used in Numbers and Deuteronomy that describes the portioning of the land among the Tribes of Israel. Of the 12 tribes, only 11 received land (territory). One tribe, the Levites, did not receive land. Instead, their portion was GOD himself. They were known as the priests and they were to spend their time staying close to God so they could lead others to him. Their job was to know and understand God so they could minister and share truth with the other tribes. The portion of the priests was not their possessions. Their portion was not land. IT WAS GOD AND GOD ALONE.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light,” 1 Peter 2:9.

We must remember we are a chosen royal priesthood and our portion is Jesus.

The rooftop of a house is the highest part of the house and it is the part of the house that is most exposed to the light of the sun. In biblical symbolism the roof represents what is the innermost part of a person. It is the part that is the closest with God. For those who know Jesus, it’s the part that’s closest to THE SON. When we put all our hopes, yearning, and love into Christ, we do not covet our possessions. It doesn’t mean we can’t have them. It just means they are not our hope, desire or object of love.

The rooftops were popular places to pray to God in biblical times. Those who didn’t honor God, however, made altars to idols instead.

When Jesus tells us not to get off the roof and go back into our house, he’s essentially saying to hold fast to him. He is the highest love we can attain. He is the only saving grace. This world is fading, but he will not.

Recently my oldest son was married. Originally the wedding was supposed to take place in Hampton Park in Charleston, South Carolina. But, because of COVID-19 restrictions, the location was changed. He ended up having the wedding on the rooftop of a beautiful hotel called The Restoration Hotel.

As I watched the wedding I was overjoyed, overwhelmed and the happiest I’d been in a long time. Seeing my son marry his beautiful bride brought tears to my eyes. The evening sun bounced off the rooftop and I couldn’t help but imagine an even bigger wedding that was yet to come. Even the name of the hotel- The Restoration- reminded me of that grand day when the bride would be united with Jesus and everything would be restored. No more pain. No more tears. No more striving. NO MORE FLOODS.

Do you believe he’s coming back? I hope you do. Sometimes it seems so far off……. yet IT IS SO CLOSE. If people only knew how close, they would have their lamps burning bright.

In the ancient Jewish wedding, the bride always had her oil lamp ready to go. She didn’t know when the groom would come. She had to be ready at any moment. The groom could come in the middle of the night so she had to be ready with the lamp to light her way.

The day is coming so let’s get ready.

 Until that happens you have to stand tall, but not like a man-made tower. Instead stand against the world and its towers of bricks. Stand as the Temple of God because you are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. You are made with living stones.

          “As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood,offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.  For in Scripture it says:

“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
    a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
    will never be put to shame.”

 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,

“The stone the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone,” 1 Peter 2:4-8.

We follow the LIVING STONE- Jesus Christ, and we are his living stones. As a living stone we are not man-made. We are formed by God and we have a unique purpose. We aren’t made from one mold, but instead we are individually fearfully and wonderfully made. Unlike bricks, we are all like snowflakes- each of us designed differently by God. We are valuable jewels and each of us has great worth to the Creator. Each jewel has a different name that God knows intimately.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19,20.

The One World Government wants you to become worthless, robotic conformists. They want bricks who fit their mold. They are not interested in Living Stones who are part of the Living Temple of God.

Well I’ve got news for them. THE ROCK is coming back and he’s going to crush their tower.

 The book of Daniel describes the day when Jesus will strike down all the manmade kingdoms of the earth. He is the rock that is not made by human hands.

“While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth,” Daniel 2: 34-35.

Man is always trying to build towers and kingdoms, but they fall into ruin. But the KING of KINGS builds KINGDOMS that last for eternity.

I thought I was going to end my blog here. I thought I’d said enough. Then I went to Bible study and a friend of mine shared something I could not leave out.

She talked about how all the division in this nation is heart-wrenching. The evil all around us makes you wonder what’s going to happen next. Will this evil be punished? Will it continue forever? How will we endure? She prayed to the Lord about this and he gave her an answer:

Below is PSALM 94 (NIV version)

The Lord is a God who avenges.
    O God who avenges, shine forth.
² Rise up, Judge of the earth;
    pay back to the proud what they deserve.
³ How long, Lord, will the wicked,
    how long will the wicked be jubilant?

⁴ They pour out arrogant words;
    all the evildoers are full of boasting.
⁵ They crush your people, Lord;
    they oppress your inheritance.
⁶ They slay the widow and the foreigner;
    they murder the fatherless.
⁷ They say, “The Lord does not see;
    the God of Jacob takes no notice.”

Take notice, you senseless ones among the people;
    you fools, when will you become wise?
⁹ Does he who fashioned the ear not hear?
    Does he who formed the eye not see?
¹⁰ Does he who disciplines nations not punish?
    Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?
¹¹ The Lord knows all human plans;
    he knows that they are futile.

¹² Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord,
    the one you teach from your law;
¹³ you grant them relief from days of trouble,
    till a pit is dug for the wicked.
¹⁴ For the Lord will not reject his people;
    he will never forsake his inheritance.
¹⁵ Judgment will again be founded on righteousness,
    and all the upright in heart will follow it.

¹⁶ Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
    Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?
¹⁷ Unless the Lord had given me help,

I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
¹⁸ When I said, “My foot is slipping,”
    your unfailing love, Lord, supported me.
¹⁹ When anxiety was great within me,
    your consolation brought me joy.

²⁰ Can a corrupt throne be allied with you—
    a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?
²¹ The wicked band together against the righteous
    and condemn the innocent to death.
²² But the Lord has become my fortress,
    and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.
²³ He will repay them for their sins
    and destroy them for their wickedness;
    the Lord our God will destroy them.”

Do you see what this is saying?

The Lord- The Rock- will destroy the enemies of his Word and the enemies of all that is good and holy. Meditate on that.

Psalm 2 says: “The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.”

Their day is coming.

But our day is coming too. The difference, however, is that we (in Christ) have a wedding coming. This is great news!

Hallelujah! Lead me to the ROCK who is higher than I………(Psalm 61)………..
