Today’s blogpost will be a bit unusual as it will revolve around some topics that are mostly ignored in the Christian community.
I can say that for myself I have NEVER heard a preacher or theologian discuss what I’m going to write about at any church I’ve attended.
Any why would they?
The topics I will explore are generally treated as weird conspiracy theory that is tied to an elaborate hoax.
The reason I’m taking on this subject is because it has relevance to Christians and their understanding of the demonic/angelic realm. The Bible says we should always be prepared to give an answer, even when it comes to strange occurrences.
With that said, it’s time to dig into the phenomenon of crop circles. This blogpost will be Part 1 of a 2-part series.
In the next blogpost, I will discuss cattle mutilations, which will be Part 2.
Both topics are important to understand, even though they are considered fringe to most people.
I’ll begin with CROP CIRCLES
Perhaps you have never heard of this. Before doing some research, I knew bits and pieces, but I never thought about how crop circles could be related to a world-wide deception. If you know about them, you probably already have your own opinions about their origins and intent.
I am going to present the information and I ask you to review it using a biblical perspective. Keep in mind that many of the foremost researchers of crop circles tend to take a “New Age” approach when it comes to understanding them. This is because they do not have a biblical worldview. This does not mean their research is “bunk,” but rather one must put the information they have collected into the right perspective.
New Age thinkers will link crop circles to ideas that revolve around “collective consciousness,” or “universal unity.” They might say that spirits from within the universe are speaking to us, or that “Mother Earth” is communicating with humanity. Additionally, they might propose that the places where crop circles form are “energy centers” where messages are being sent from other galaxies or dimensions that are meant to help humanity, or warn them of some impending doom.
As a follower of Jesus and the Bible, I can clearly see that this is not the right approach. It makes more sense that this phenomenon is linked to the demonic, or some sort of spiritual deception. A message may be given through crop circles, but it’s not one that derives from “friendly” entities, and it’s certainly not from God. It is also quite possible that this kind of phenomenon can be used to deceive people into thinking that God is a universal consciousness who is trying to link humans together, rather than a personal God who saves humans from their sins.
Because there are many non-biblical theories, it’s important to take a look at this phenomenon- I will provide links of researchers in this blogpost, but that doesn’t mean I agree with their New Age interpretations. Certain facts about crop circles cannot be brushed aside, but the reason for why these formations continue happening, must be filtered through the lens of Jesus and the Bible.
Let’s begin exploring Crop Circles.
What are they?
Karen Alexander has been investigating crop circles for almost thirty years and this is how she defines them:
“Crop Circles are geometric patterns that appear mysteriously in crop fields. The crop is not cut, but is usually laid flat and most often swirled into an attractive floor pattern. Most patterns appear in cereal crops such as wheat and barley, but circles have been known to occur (in lesser numbers) in oilseed rape, maize, linseed, grass and even borage – to name a few. In the US many circles appear in soya, as it grown prevalently in that part of the world.”
The designs of crop circles are varied, but many of them are extremely detailed, intricate and extraordinary. They range in size from a few feet across to over 900 feet in diameter. The number of circles contained within can vary as well, with one of the largest crop circles in the world containing as many as 409 circles.

The designs, patterns and shapes of crop circles are truly unbelievable. Images of birds, butterflies, alien faces, ancient symbols, occult emblems, serpents, stars, interlocking triangles/squares/cubes, and fascinating geometric anomalies are found in fields all over the world (over 50 countries), though a large majority turn up in the United Kingdom. In the UK alone, there are an average of 30 per year. Wiltshire holds the record for the most in the UK, boasting of 380 crop circles since 2005. In general, they appear from April through August each year, depending on the growing cycle.
Crop circles have been appearing in fields since as early as 1678 according to records. (see image of an old pamphlet below which attributed crop circles to a “mowing devil.”) But in the 1970’s a worldwide phenomenon began. Interestingly enough, this is when waves of cattle mutilations began to surface as well (more about that in a later post).

There are many skeptics who immediately insist that crop circles are all a hoax. They claim that ropes and boards can be used to make them. In fact, in 1991 two men confessed to having created more than 200 crop circles this way (though they were never caught, or seen making them–thus there was no first-hand evidence that they actually created them).
While its probable that some of these crop circles were made by humans, the truth is that a large portion are just too complicated and mathematically precise to be created with boards, planks and ropes. Some formations are perfectly infused with the number Pi (3.14…) which represents the ratio of the circumference of a circle to the diameter. Here is a crop circle found in 2008 which measured 150 feet in diameter and was intricately coded with Pi. Other crop circle designs have contained complicated, yet beautiful madelbrot and julia sets, which are precise mathematical patterns that would be very difficult to replicate with limited time in a field at night.
Here is a link showing the many different designs of crop circles in the UK. I suggest looking at the archives (which are listed on the right once you open the link) so you can get an idea of how detailed and mind boggling they are. Crop circles often contain complex geometry, symmetry and fractals which are so precise that there is no possible way to create them in a matter of hours, or without some sort of high-tech, sophisticated equipment. Here is a video about crop circles produced by the show Ancient Aliens. Keep in mind that this is a non-Christian, New Age type of show, so they believe crop circles are linked to extraterrestrials or highly evolved beings. Therefore, they don’t understand that these entities could be demonic.
The strange thing about crop circles, which makes so many difficult to “hoax” is that most of them appear overnight, or within the span of a few hours. One particular crop circle, which appeared near Stonehenge, was created in less than an hour. The timing of the creation is known because a pilot passed over the field at 5:30 p.m. and there was no crop circle present. When he passed by again at 6:15, the crop circle was suddenly there.
Because of how quickly crop circles are made, it is rare, if not impossible to catch anyone in the act of making them. In fact, to this day, no one has been caught in the physical act of making one. Those who claim they can create crop circles have made them on camera as part of a simulation, but it takes a very long time to create even simple designs. If there is any high-tech equipment involved, it has never been revealed to anyone during a demonstration.
It’s worth noting that most farmers are not even aware of a crop circle until he/she is about to enter the field and he/she comes upon it. Footprints and traces of a human presence are rarely found, even when the ground is muddy.
Crop circles are best viewed in the air. It is hard to appreciate the complexity and intricacy of the patterns unless you are in a plane. Karen Alexander and others such as Lucy Pringle have photographed crop circles so people can see the full scope of the formations. The fact that the crop circles are best viewed this way has led some researchers to believe that who or whatever made the crop circles may have used a flying vehicle (UFO) or an energy source (perhaps heated) that creates the designs from above. Others have speculated that sound waves are used to create the complicated patterns by comparing it to how sand can be shaped in this same way, as well as water.
Strangely enough, the plants in the field that are part of the crop circle generally sustain no permanent damage, as the stalks are flattened or bent, but not broken. In some cases, the blades of the crop are even interwoven. Microscopic views of the crop stalks show that some form of energy has exploded in the nodes of the stalks. An eye-opening detail to consider is that the crops inside various formations have been tested and examples of genetic mutation have been noted.
Those investigating crop circles have reported high magnetic concentrations and iron deposits in the soil as well as the presence of unusual energy fields. Because of this, some people visiting the crop circles have reported that their phones, cameras and electrical devices stop working properly, or that their batteries are suddenly drained. Additionally, some crop circles appear near ancient megalithic or historic sites such as Stonehenge and Avebury. Wiltshire, which is home to Stonehenge, has many archaeological sites, stone circles, and forts on hills. Historically, Stonehenge has been connected to paranormal activity, as well as pagan Druid ceremonies. Who or whatever built Stonehenge was able to design it to align with solstices and other celestial events.
Oddly enough, even animals are affected negatively by crop circles. Horses and dogs will refuse to enter circles and birds will often go out of their way to avoid them by taking detours in their flying patterns.
Some people have reported seeing orbs of light and UFOs near crop circles and even stated that the UFO and/ or clusters of light, are what led them to the location of the formation. Others have described swirling pulses of light above a field before a crop circle appears.
Alien faces end up in crop formations every now and then, as seen in this photo (click on link). In Sparsholt, Hampshire, England, an “alien face” next to a disk appeared in a wheat field near an array of radio masts. Click on this link to see what it looked like.
What was unusual about this crop circle is that the disk next to the alien face contained a type of binary code. When translated, the binary code contained a message which supposedly said:
BEWARE THE BEARERS OF FALSE GIFTS AND THEIR BROKEN PROMISES.
MUCH PAIN
BUT STILL TIME
BELIEVE
THERE IS GOOD OUT THERE
WE OPPOSE DECEPTION
The message itself could mean several things. If it isn’t hoaxed and is legitimately from some demonic presence (though New Agers will label it as “extraterrestrial”), I would say that it’s meant to sway people to believe that the “presence” leaving the message is trustworthy, and trying to warn humanity about lies and deception. However, the true deceiver is the deliverer of the message—that is, what or whoever created the crop circle. Satan is the great deceiver and masquerades as an “angel of light.” Thus, some might see the crop circle message as a beacon of hope when in fact, it is a harbinger of deceit. Crop circle “messages” could be part of the end times deception where the enemy uses all sorts of signs and wonders to deceive the masses. The future Antichrist may possibly claim to be an “alien” or “highly evolved being” who has come to “bring truth” and enlightenment to the world. Who knows? In the future there could be a crop circle which points to him in some eerie way. Maybe there already has been one? Some formations are so strange that no one really knows what they are or what they could symbolize.
The appearance of occult imagery and ancient symbols of pagan cultures happens fairly often in crop circles. The Wayland Smithy crop circle of 2005 contained designs found in the ancient Mayan calendar. If you study Mayan culture, you’ll figure out very quickly that they worshipped demons, ripped out human hearts by hand, and brutally sacrificed both adults and children. Additionally, there are many other crop circles that contain Mayan imagery, or symbols from pagan tribes.
In 2001, a crop circle appeared in Berwick Bassett, Wiltshire, England that depicted a serpent eating its own tail. Inside the snake’s body, the barley crop was woven and knotted, and a detailed feathering effect could be found along the snake’s belly. (For reference, there are lots of ancient pagan burial mounds and sites which depict this same kind of design with a serpent eating its tail, or an egg.)
Other crop circles have depicted pyramids with strange symbols on them, ancient Greek gods and imagery from eastern religions.
A recent crop circle of 2022 shows a compass design in the center that looks a lot like the classic free masonry image. A crop circle from 2023 shows an all-seeing eye that is reminiscent of pagan, third-eye illuminati symbolism. The all-seeing eye is associated with the New Age movement where the goal of the initiate is to gain enlightenment from a spirit guide or ascended master. In other words, the goal is to be guided by demonic entities.
The Wayland Smithy crop circle of 2006 contains a series of towers— some people believed they looked like the Twin Towers that fell on 9-11, while others thought it resembled the Tower of Babel.
Interestingly enough, there was a crop circle of a menorah that appeared in 1999 at a field near Barbury Castle, Wiltshire, England- it even contained an oil lamp, pincers and a bowl. These are certainly not pagan symbols, but it’s possible that the source which created it (if it wasn’t “human”), was trying to deceive people into thinking the menorah was made by a “friendly” or “Godly” entity. Keep in mind that Satan masquerades himself as an angel of light.
Two years prior, a crop circle appeared at the same place (Barbury Castle) which depicted the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. This is the New Age version of Judaism, which involves mysticism.
When it comes to crop circles, there have been many astounding, complicated designs. It’s obvious that certain kinds couldn’t be made in a short amount of time with simple boards and ropes. Of course, there’s always the possibility that someone has used some sort of sophisticated equipment. But if that’s the case, we have yet to spot anyone creating these kinds of intricate, detailed crop circles using that equipment.
If someone is doing this, what is the point anyway? What are they getting out of it? They aren’t getting paid and they aren’t getting the credit.
Some say the farmers are planning it all, but the truth is that most farmers are annoyed by the phenomenon as it interferes with their crops, and brings unwanted spectators to their property. There aren’t any farmers getting rich from crop circles.
If you look at the list of crop circle books on this link and read their descriptions, you’ll see that the whole phenomenon is given a New Age spin. Authors explain these mysterious formations as being linked to things like universal consciousness and mysticism, messages from extraterrestrials and connections with sacred entities/spirit guides.
There is definitely something strange going on, but let’s look at it from a biblical perspective. To do this, I need to give you a background about fallen angels and demons and how they operate.
Biblical Background
The Bible tells us about fallen angels and the supernatural world of demons and principalities. In Genesis 6 we are told that the fallen angels came down to earth and had sex with the women who lived there. The result of those unions was disastrous. Hybrid beings (giants) called the Nephilim were created, and they wreaked havoc on the planet. It got so bad that God decided to flood the earth. The Nephilim were not human–they were genetically altered beings (giants) that were the result of un-natural unions with fallen angels. Noah was perfect in his genetics so God spared him, as well as his family.
When the flood came, these bodies of the Nephilim were destroyed, but their spirits had nowhere to go. After all, they were not humans created by God and thus, they did not have souls. Some biblical researchers believe the Nephilim became demons that continue to inhabit the spiritual realms. To this day, they harass humanity, and even interact with humans to give them technology and other otherworldly ideas that have evil purposes.
The Book of Enoch
The Book of Enoch is not part of the Bible, but it provides some interesting details about the Nephilim. Many fragments of this book were found among the Dead Sea scrolls. Even though it is not part of the cannon of the Bible, there are over a hundred phrases in the New Testament that find precedents in the Book of Enoch.
The Book of Jude (which is part of the Bible) references the Book of Enoch:
Enoch chapter 1:9 reads,
“And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones to execute judgment upon all, and to destroy all the ungodly: and to convict all flesh of all the works of their ungodliness which the ungodly have committed, and of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
In comparison the book of Jude 1:14-15 reads,
“And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, ‘Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard [speeches] which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
Interestingly enough, Jesus quoted scriptures that are similar to what’s found in the Book of Enoch.
“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” (Mat 5:5)- this could be referencing, “The elect shall possess light, joy and peace, and they shall inherit the earth. (Enoch 5:7 {6:9})”
“Woe unto you that are rich! For ye have received your consolation,” (Luke 6:24) could be referencing, “Woe to you who are rich, for in your riches have you trusted; but from your riches you shall be removed.” (Enoch 94:8 {93:7}).
“Between us and you there is a great gulf fixed,” (Luke 16:26) could be referencing Enoch 22: 9,11 (22:10, 12) which says, “by a chasm … [are] their souls are separated.”
There are just a few examples. They aren’t definitive proof, but something to think about.
How Should We Look at the Book of Enoch?
There is much debate about whether the Book of Enoch should be considered part of the Bible. Some say it was purposely banned at one point in history so that certain information about the Nephilim and the fallen angels (also known as the Watchers) would be ignored.
For myself, I consider the Bible to be the final authoritative source of knowledge. But I consider books like Enoch to be historical information that could contain pieces of truth.
The Bible gives important pieces of the supernatural puzzle through Genesis 6, which describes the Nephilim, as well as passages like 2 Peter 2:4 and Daniel 2:43.
“Certainly God did not refrain from punishing the angels who sinned, but threw them into Tarʹta·rus (Hell, the abyss), putting them in chains of dense darkness to be reserved for judgment,” 2 Peter 2:4 —
This verse shows that God punished the fallen angels for their sin of having sexual relations with the women of earth (as described in Genesis 6)
“And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay,” Daniel 2:43
This verse shows that their seed (the fallen angels) will not “cleave” with the seed of human women—the word cleave in Aramaic refers to marriage—when a woman leaves her family and cleaves to her husband.
This part of Daniel is talking about the future kingdoms that will rule the earth. From the beginning (as stated in Genesis 3:15), the seed of Satan has been at war with the seed of Jesus (the seed that God used to create humans). Satan has always wanted to destroy the genetic line of Jesus. In the final kingdom (also known as the fourth kingdom), Satan will use the Antichrist to create his own seed.
How will he do this? It will be through the deceptions of the Nephilim (demons), fallen angels, and his ruling principalities.
Looking back at the Book of Enoch, we can see verses that sound like Genesis 6, with some details added. See below:
1 And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters.
2 And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: “Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.”
3 And Semjaza, who was their leader, said unto them: “I fear ye will not indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.”
4 And they all answered him and said: “Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.”
5 Then swear they all together and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it.”
6 And these are the names of their leaders: Samlazaz, their leader, Araklba, Rameel, Kokablel, Tamlel, Ramlel, Danel, Ezeqeel, Baraqijal, Asael, Armaros, Batarel, Ananel, Zaqlel, Samsapeel, Satarel, Turel, Jomjael, Sariel. These are their chiefs of tens.
7 And all the others together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go in unto them and to defile themselves with them.
8 And they taught them charms and enchantments, and the cutting of roots, and made them acquainted with plants.
9 And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells: Who consumed all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind. (became cannibals)
10 And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another’s flesh, and drink the blood. Then the earth laid accusation against the lawless ones.
Those verses say quite a bit about the fallen angels and what they did. The Book of Enoch has more detail than Genesis 6 because it says that these fallen angels taught the people of earth about “charms and enchantments,” the “cutting of roots,” and made them “acquainted with plants.”
If this is true, that means the fallen angels taught man about sorcery and perhaps how to make drugs (also known as pharmakeia in the Bible). Since these angels were fallen, it stands to reason that these medicines or potions from the plants were not “good.” Biblical scholars have speculated that they were concoctions which could help man connect with evil spirits or the demonic realm. That’s not so different from today’s hallucinogenic drugs (magic mushrooms, LSD, DMT, meth, etc.) that allow people to have crazy visions where they connect with spirits. Here is a podcast about that if you are interested.
Did you notice the verse that says, (the Nephilim) began “to devour one another’s flesh, and drink the blood.”
That means these giants were CANNIBALS.
Again, if this is true, it would explain a lot of the demonic activity we see in our world right now and in the past. Those who follow the occult are obsessed with drinking blood and blood sacrifices.
What about this verse:
“And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish.”
What in the world does that mean? Hmm, some biblical scholars think it means that the Nephilim and fallen angels were genetically modifying the animals. Exactly how they were doing this is unclear. But let’s just think about the dinosaurs. Seriously, what in the world was happening with that? We do know they were destroyed by the flood. Were these creatures created by the fallen angels or Nephilim? I don’t know, but I wonder when I read that verse.
Again, we don’t know for sure how accurate and true the entire Book of Enoch is. Nonetheless, we do know the Bible says there were giants (genetic hybrids of earthly women and fallen angels- also known as Nephilim) on our planet before the Flood, and also afterward.
Another verse in Enoch reveals:
11 “And Azazel (a fallen angel) taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all coloring tinctures.”
Here we see that the fallen angel (Azazel) taught men to make weapons and even how to work with the metals of the earth.
If this is true, it means that fallen angels wanted mankind to use weapons against each other. They wanted to introduce a new way to commit violence.
Even if you don’t believe the Book of Enoch and what it says here, the Bible does tell us that we are constantly dealing with principalities of the dark world that inhabit high places. Do they influence our actions and encourage humans to commit violent acts? Of course, they do.
Here’s another verse to consider from Enoch describing what happened as the fallen angels continued to share new information with humans:
12 And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways.
13 Semjaza taught enchantments and root−cuttings, Armaros the resolving of enchantments, Baraqijal taught astrology, Kokabel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course of the moon.
It’s interesting to read the verse above because it says that the fallen angels taught mankind about astrology, constellations, signs of the sun and the course of the moon.
If you think about all the pagan practices around the world that have existed for ages, the core beliefs center around these concepts. Today’s New Age movement is obsessed with these things. The Bible does not say that studying the sun, moon and stars are evil, but it does tell us not to engage in the pagan practices of divination which use the sun, moon and stars as a way of gaining hidden wisdom.
Many people enjoy following their horoscope, or some might even plan marriages, births, trips or special occasions based on certain constellations or configurations of the sun, moon and stars. But that kind of thing is forbidden by God because it’s a type of divination. It’s a form of fortune/future-telling that doesn’t involve consulting God. Instead, the person consults an impersonal force called nature. It puts the glory on the creation, instead of the Creator. This is what Satan desires– that man consult anything but God.
Deuteronomy 4:19—
“And beware lest you raise your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things that the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.”
God can use the sun, moon and stars to point to Himself as the Creator. He can also use them as a marker of time, or to highlight his appointed festivals (Feasts of the Lord). He can even use His creation as a sign of his sovereign, eternal glory.
Genesis 1:14-
And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for isigns and for seasons, and for days and years.”
Psalm 19:
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
God also used the stars to illustrate his promise to Abraham- (Genesis 15:5).
The final judgment of the earth will be marked by astronomical events (Isaiah 13:9, Joel 3:15, Matthew 24:29).
God can use various astronomical events to remind us to turn to Him. For instance, solar eclipses have been seen by some biblical scholars as harbingers of God’s judgement. Of course, not every solar eclipse is seen this way, but rather it depends on where it falls on the Hebrew calendar, and what is happening historically.
Pagan nations often saw the blocking of the sun (solar eclipses)as a bad omen. There is speculation that the prophet Jonah went into Nineveh after a solar eclipse. He came to the city to declare God’s judgement—If the people of Nineveh didn’t repent, they would be destroyed. The story of Jonah in the Bible tells us that the entire kingdom did repent after Jonah’s warning.
No matter what, it’s important that God (Jesus) is who we consult about everything. We can’t just study the patterns of the heavens and plot the course of our life based on that.
It is interesting to note that famous megalithic sites, such as Stonehenge, line up with celestial phenomenon such as solstices, equinoxes, or alignments of the sun and moon. Many ancient monuments, or sacred burial sites of ancient pagan civilizations are also built to align with solar calendars, as well as solstices and celestial phenomenon. This is because they worshipped the creation, rather than the Creator.
What Does All of This Have to Do With Crop Circles?
The reason I told you all of the above is because it will help you understand the strange phenomenon taking place on our earth– things that are hard to explain such as crop circles.
Is it possible that some crop circles are being created by these spiritual beings known as the Nephilim, who are trying to disguise themselves as “extraterrestrials” or some sort of benevolent force?
The fallen angels who committed the sin of intermarrying with earthly women were punished by being thrown into the abyss. But after the Flood, their children (the Nephilim), were left as disembodied spirits that could roam the earth, as well as the demonic realms. Also, what about the other fallen angels who were not thrown into the pit? Couldn’t they also interact with humanity in supernatural ways?
There’s no way to know for sure as this is speculation. But, in my opinion, there are demonic forces that are creating these crop circles (not all, but the ones that are “legitimate” and not hoaxed).
What is the meaning behind circles?
It’s important to understand the symbolism of circles and the occult, and then compare it to the biblical meaning.
In the Bible, there is an amazing and quite intriguing story where circles are used. In fact, circles are used to achieve victory over the enemy.
Do you know which story I’m referring to?
It’s JERICHO!
Yes, you remember the amazing account of how the WALL FELL DOWN FLAT!!!
This is perhaps one of the most well-known stories in the whole Bible because it’s so unusual.
The Israelites were going into the Promised Land to secure their first piece of property– Jericho. This place was inhabited by pagan people. Actually, it was also inhabited by Nephilim. The Bible tells us that these Nephilim GIANTS were in the land and the Israelites were terrified of them. Nonetheless, God assures the Israelites that they will have victory over this people and place, but only if they do what he says.
WHAT DOES HE SAY TO DO???????????
TO MARCH AROUND THE CITY IN CIRCLES!
The instructions are below: Joshua 6: 2-5
“2 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.”
Do you ever wonder why God commanded that they go around the city in circles?
Some would say it’s because the circle represents never-ending love and perfection. It also signifies infinity, which points to Jesus’ nature–he’s the First and the Last. While that could be the reason, there’s a supernatural element to the circle that we find in the occult that needs to be explored as well.
Why?
Because the Israelites were conquering a PAGAN, OCCULT city.
With Nephilim giants living in that place, you can be sure there were elements of witchcraft and occult rituals within the walls. God knew this and it’s very possible that circles were strategically used against them.
In the occult, circles are extremely important.
Below is some information I copied from an occult site (YUCK!), but I wanted you to see how they use circles: of course, Satan stole the circle to use for his own purposes…
“A magic circle is a sacred and purified space in which Rituals, magical work and ceremonies are conducted. It offers a boundary for a reservoir of concentrated power and acts as a doorway to the world of the gods. The magic circle is an archetypal symbol of wholeness, perfection and unity; the creation of the cosmos; the womb of mother Earth; the cycle of the seasons and birth/death-regeneration. Within the circle, it becomes possible to transcend the physical, to open the mind to deeper and higher levels of consciousness.”
It continues:
“In ceremonial magic, the circle represents a sacred space in which the magician conjures and commands Demons and spirits that are dangerous and difficult to control. The circle provides protection against them and must be cast carefully. The magician must never leave the circle during a ritual nor even inadvertently swing his arm outside it, lest a conjured Demon grab him and strike him down, or something unpleasant happen.”
In contemporary Paganism and Witchcraft, circles are cast according to available space, size of group and purpose. They may be traced on a floor or measured out with cord, or may be established by walking the perimeter. Circles outdoors may not be perfect circles.
Negative energy is banished prior to casting a circle. In Wicca, it may be symbolically swept out with a broom by the high priestess. The consciousness of participants is prepared through meditation, visualization, breathing, drumming and other esoteric methods”
Just by reading this, I’m sure you noticed that circles are places of power in pagan cultures. They are places from where demonic forces are commanded and spells are cast, but they are also places where warlocks and witches are protected from the very evil that they seek to control. As doorways to the demonic, these circles symbolize occult power.
So now let’s put this into perspective.
God knew the inhabitants of Jericho were pagan and they practiced witchcraft.
So, what does he do?
He tells the Israelites to put the entire community inside a circle!
HA! But it’s not their magic circle. Instead, IT’S GOD’S CIRCLE!!!!
They won’t be protected inside this circle. They won’t be able to cast spells. They won’t be able to summon their demons.
Instead, God has full control of the circle. The amazing thing is that while occultists usually chant spells from their circles, God told the Israelites to march around the city for six days in circles, but it was on the 7th day and the 7th circle when he commanded them to blow the trumpets. Then, when the last long blast on the trumpets (the last trump) was blown, they let out a big loud shout! This is when the wall fell down!
I am trying to imagine the looks on the faces of those living in Jericho. They didn’t hear any special incantations coming from the Israelites. Instead, they heard God’s voice because the trumpet is supposed to represent His voice! They also heard a loud, resounding shout!
The cool thing about that is when Jesus returns one day, there will be a trumpet sound and a shout given! And guess what? At that time, there will likely be Nephilim freely moving on the earth again because we know that all sorts of evil are unleashed during the Tribulation. But like Jericho, Jesus will bust the wall down and destroy the evil forces of this dark world. Hello Revelation 19!!!
But as you can see, circles were used to defeat the enemy (the Nephilim) of Jericho. Their circle rituals were used against them!
And so now let’s apply this to crop circles.
Is it possible that the circles contained in all crop circles are a reminder of this pagan practice used by demonic forces (like the Nephilim)?
It’s not that the circle is bad because obviously God created circles and all of geometry, but the point is that the occult uses this symbol for their own purposes.
In the New Age movement circles are seen as sacred spaces just like the occult. Oftentimes, this is associated with the shape of the moon, sun and planets. It is said that there’s an energy within a circle and that a person can become part of this energy by merging with the circle.
Crop circles are portrayed by the New Age community as circles with a “message.”
The deceptive part is clear— where or what is the message coming from?
As I’ve already written, not all crop circles are “legitimate” (from some kind of supernatural, demonic force). Crop circles can be faked. But there’s always the ones that are too complex to be formed by hoaxers.
Are they made by demonic beings (the Nephilim, fallen angels, etc.)?
It is certainly possible.
Sadly, there’s a large following of people who really believe they are made by aliens, or a benevolent force of the universe. But that’s a deception.
Will these crop circles get more complex over time? Will they be used as part of the last days deception? How will they play into the Antichrist’s plan?
I don’t know.
But I do know that we have to keep our eyes open and use discernment.
Crop circles will start popping up again very soon. Generally, it is around April that they begin appearing each year around the world.
As Christians, let’s put everything into a biblical perspective and be careful about how we filter unusual phenomenon such as crop circles. Pray to Jesus about everything and filter it through Him.
Don’t look to “supernatural forces” to give you messages. Read the Bible and pray for discernment.
Part 2 of this post will be even more unusual… CATTLE MUTILATIONS.
Word to the wise… Don’t read it before dinner…
