GOD’S PROPHETIC PLAN FOR ISRAEL

June 2025 was a month that went down in the history books.

Israel, with the help of the United States, destroyed Iran’s nuclear facilities in an unprecedented move to completely dismantle their nuclear capabilities. The violent regime of Iran was dangerously close to procuring nuclear bombs which were capable of, as the terrorists say, “wiping Israel off the map.”

IRAN’S DEMONIC GOALS

The demonic leaders of Iran have been working toward this goal for decades. They have never hidden their ambitions to annihilate the “Little Satan” (Israel) and the “Big Satan” (United States). Regardless of their threats, previous American presidents such as Obama and Biden, have catered to Iran’s violent whims. Both supported the Iran nuclear deal, which allowed billions of dollars to continue flowing to a regime that was Hell-bent on creating nuclear weapons and destroying the nation of Israel.

The Trump Factor

President Donald Trump didn’t play Iran’s games. He made it clear that diplomacy was possible, but only if Iran completely dismantled their nuclear program. Of course, Iran would not dismantle their nuclear sites and they continued to pursue their nuclear bombs.

On June 12, 2025, Israel had enough. They knew Iran was within weeks of having a nuclear bomb in their clutches. They began their bombing campaign to take out these dangerous nuclear facilities. On June 22, the United States assisted Israel in striking Iran, targeting three key sites: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.

This is how Trump addressed the nation after the U.S. assisted Israel.

“A short time ago, the U.S. military carried out massive precision strikes on the three key nuclear facilities in the Iranian regime: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. Everybody heard those names for years as they built this horribly destructive enterprise. Our objective was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity, and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror. Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success.

For 40 years, Iran has been saying, ‘Death to America. Death to Israel.’ They have been killing our people, blowing off their arms, blowing off their legs with roadside bombs. That was their specialty. We lost over a thousand people, and hundreds of thousands throughout the Middle East and around the world have died as a direct result of their hate in particular…

Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. And Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace. If they do not. future attacks would be far greater and a lot easier.

I want to thank and congratulate Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu. We worked as a team, like perhaps no team has ever worked before, and we’ve gone a long way to erasing this horrible threat to Israel. I want to thank the Israeli military for the wonderful job they’ve done. And most importantly, I want to congratulate the great American patriots who flew those magnificent machines tonight and all of the United States military on an operation the likes of which the world has not seen in many, many decades.”

Trump warned Iran that “there will be either peace, or there will be tragedy” for the country following the strikes.

Trump continued, “Remember, there are many targets left. Tonight’s was the most difficult of them all by far, and perhaps the most lethal. But if peace does not come quickly, we will go after those other targets with precision, speed and skill. Most of them can be taken out in a matter of minutes. There’s no military in the world that could have done what we did tonight. Not even close. There’s never been a military that could do what took place just a little while ago.

I want to just thank everybody. And in particular, God, I want to just say, we love you, God, and we love our great military. Protect them. God bless the Middle East. God bless Israel, and God bless America,” he said before ending his address.

Before going on with this blogpost, I just want to comment that I’ve never heard a U.S. president declare “We love you God” in a speech to the nation. This is a big deal. Most presidents won’t go there, but Trump did. Whether you like him or not, he says what he wants to say and of all the things he has said, I like this statement the best!

Also, I love that he said “God bless Israel.”

In a world that is blatantly antisemitic, this is a powerful statement.

After Trump made his speech and the world became fully aware of how the United States went to bat for Israel, something very disturbing happened.

Conservatives and Others Turn on Israel

Immediately, many conservatives bashed Trump. They started calling him a warmonger. They faulted him for helping Israel. Political pundits such as Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens began floating conspiracy theories about the “Zionists” who are controlling the world. They began comparing the U.S. helping Israel with getting involved in forever wars like Ukraine and Iraq. The MAGA movement began to split apart.

Those who know the scriptures defended the U.S. involvement in helping Israel take out Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Others, who clearly had no knowledge of biblical prophecy and the scriptures regarding Israel, began saying that we have no business helping the Jewish state. “Mind your own business.” “Stop helping the Zionists” is what they declared. Popular talk show hosts like Joe Rogan have jumped on the bandwagon with this attitude towards Israel as well. While I appreciate Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Joe Rogan’s views about health freedom, censorship, and woke-ism, the truth is that they are way off when it comes to Israel. (Pastor Jack Hibbs provides an excellent response to Tucker Carlson and others who don’t seem to understand the biblical prophetic plan for Israel—here is the link.

Many People are Ignorant of Bible Prophecy and God’s Promises to the Jews

This really opened my eyes to the fact that there are many people and even Christians who do not have a good grasp of God’s promises to Israel and Bible prophecy. Sadly, many believe the Church has replaced Israel and that the people currently living in the land are not part of God’s end time plan, or worthy of His promises. They call the current state of Israel “illegitimate.” They don’t see that the formation of the modern state of Israel in 1948 was a fulfillment of Isaiah 66 which declares.

Before she goes into labor (Israel),
    she gives birth;
before the pains come upon her,
    she delivers a son.
Who has ever heard of such things?
Who has ever seen things like this?
Can a country be born in a day
or a nation be brought forth in a moment?
Yet no sooner is Zion in labor
than she gives birth to her children.
Do I bring to the moment of birth
and not give delivery?” says the Lord.
“Do I close up the womb
when I bring to delivery?” says your God.
“Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her,
    all you who love her;
rejoice greatly with her,
all you who mourn over her.”

The modern state of Israel was born in one moment– on one specific day––May 14, 1948. In fact, the United States was the first nation to recognize it. After being scattered all over the earth––and after being nearly wiped out by the Holocaust, the Jewish people had a home. The nation was regathered and brought back to the land of their forefathers.

The misdirection of many people claiming Israel is “illegitimate” stems from the fact that they don’t understand key facets of the Bible.

Those who claim that the modern state of Israel is not part of God’s prophetic plan will say that the Jews living in Israel have not accepted Jesus as the Messiah so their formation was an accident of history. Additionally, because Israel supports liberal causes such as the LBGTQ agenda and abortion, it is theorized that they cannot be the nation that God will restore. In fact, many believe the Jews currently living in Israel have lost the promises of God and thus, they are no longer the chosen people. They call the modern state of Israel “a product of Satan’s schemes.”

Ezekiel 37: A Prophecy to the nation of Israel

People who have this view do not understand what the Bible actually says. In Ezekiel 37, God declared that he would bring the Jewish people back into their land. He would gather them from all over the world. God did not say they would come into their land knowing Jesus as their savior. He did not say they would possess a high moral position when they returned. This would come later at a time ordained by God.

Ezekiel 37, as well as other scriptures, show that there’s a prophetic timing to when the nation will come to know Christ and receive Him as their king. But this would not happen right away.

Let’s read what Ezekiel 37:1-14 states: (God is revealing this to the prophet Ezekiel):

"The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley it was full of bones. And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry.  And he said to me, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' And I answered, 'O Lord God, you know.' Then he said to me, 'Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.'
So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, 'Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus, says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.' So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.” Then he said to me, 'Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel.' Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’ Therefore prophesy, and say to them, 'Thus, says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.'”

The verses above were a prophecy given to Ezekiel which showed what would happen to the Jewish people at a future time. In this passage, Ezekiel was given insight into one of the most horrific events in the history of the world.

The Holocaust

From 1933 to 1945 approximately six million Jews were dehumanized, mocked and targeted for death. Loaded in railroad cattle cars, they were shipped to concentration camps where they were stripped naked, starved, gassed, shot, and tortured. Their bodies were burned in hot ovens, turning their emaciated corpses to ash. Whatever was left was thrown into mass graves. In fact, as the Ezekiel verses say, their bones were very dry. Their flesh could no longer be seen on their starved bodies. They were skeletons in valleys of dry bones.

Verse 11 reads, “Then he said to me, ‘Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel.’ Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’”

It’s a historical fact that during the Holocaust, the Jewish people were cut off. They were marked for death and had no hope.

Ezekiel would not have understood what the Holocaust is, or what would happen when Hitler’s Final Solution was set in motion to annihilate the Jewish people. The children of Israel at that time were scattered around the world, living in Europe, America, South America, Australia…pretty much everywhere on earth. When the Holocaust began, some were able to escape, but others became dry bones as the Ezekiel verses describe.

The Lord showed Ezekiel a vision of what was to come. He saw this valley of dry bones. He saw an overwhelming vision of death.

Imagine looking at a vast valley of skeletons with your own eyes? What would you think?

As Ezekiel is looking upon this valley of bones, God asks, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

Ezekiel responded, “O Sovereign Lord, you alone know” (Ezekiel 37:3).

Ezekiel didn’t know if life from the dead was possible. After all, he looked upon a valley of skeletons. How could life come from bones?

Ezekiel is standing there, gazing at utter devastation. How could dry skeletons be restored or resurrected?

Then, God spoke to him.

“Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord!’” (Ezekiel 37:4).

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life” (Ezekiel 37:5).

“I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord” (Ezekiel 37:6).

Likely Ezekiel didn’t understand all of this, but he did what God commanded. He spoke to those bones…he prophesied and he declared…

THEN……

“There was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone” (Ezekiel 37:7).

Imagine that vision! God was bringing the bones together in front of Ezekiel’s eyes.

“Tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them” (Ezekiel 37:8).

Suddenly those dry bones were being covered with tendons, skin, and flesh.

During the Holocaust, the Jewish people were dead to the world—they were a people who had no hope. Those left in the concentration camps were living skeletons. But at the end of the war, they would be liberated. Soon, land would be set aside for them by the United Nations and through the British Mandate. Eventually, Jews from all over the world would come to live in this land. The modern state of Israel would be created.

They were coming back to life—a miraculous reformation was happening.

“I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord” (Ezekiel 37:6).

As the verses say, they came out of their graves. The Jewish people were almost annihilated and their corpses were thrown into mass graves during the Holocaust. But as a people group, they would stand up and come to life! Their populations would grow once again.

The Restoration of the Jews Has Been a Continual Process

For background, in history we know that Ezekiel prophesied during the Babylonian exile. Interestingly enough, it was Cyrus the Great who ended up conquering the Babylonian empire and eventually giving the Jews permission to go back and build their Temple. Later on, Nehemiah began the work of rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls so the city would be secure. The Temple and its walls would stand once again and the Jewish people would thrive in their homeland.

As time passed, the Jewish people would be persecuted again and the Temple they had rebuilt would be destroyed—this time by the Romans. The Jews would suffer greatly under the boot of the Roman Empire. As punishment, they would be murdered and scattered about. Their land would be renamed “Palestine” by the Roman ruler Hadrian. The name would hearken back to Israel’s enemies–the Philistines. By renaming Israel as “Palestine,” the ruler hoped to erase the history of the Jews forever and their tie to the biblical land.

The Palestinian Lie

This is a lie that continues to this very day as many will insist that the land does not belong to the Jews. What most people don’t understand, however, is that the people who call themselves “Palestinians” today are actually Arabs who are claiming to be the descendants of those who lived in the land during biblical times—but those people were not Arabs—they were Jews. In fact, historical documents and history itself shows it was the Jews who lived in Israel (which was renamed Palestine) since well before the Roman emperor decided to kick them out.

Those being called “Palestinians” in modern times are actually descendants of the ancient Philistines. This is the same group of people who continually went to war against the Jewish people during biblical times. They claim the land is theirs when in fact, the Jews were the ones originally called Palestinians by the Romans. This was all part of a plan to erase the Jews tie to the land and their heritage.

Persecution Became Part of Jewish Life

History marched on and there would be many inquisitions and pogroms all over Europe. Persecution would become common and blood libels spoken like gospel. Eventually, after hundreds of years of persecution, Hitler would drive the nail into the coffin—vowing to kill every Jew on the earth.

Nonetheless, the bones would start rattling. God would shake and rattle those bones. He had a great plan. It’s interesting because a “shaking” can be a good thing. It’s often heartache and tragedy that brings a person to God. Surrender happens when we are at the end of our rope.

After the Holocaust, the Jewish people would stand up again. They would walk in these new bodies with flesh covering bone. God would bring them into their land. They would be attacked right away by their enemies in the War for Independence, but God would give them victory in this battle, and many others afterward.

The verses in Ezekiel say that the resurrected nation of Israel stood up on their feet as a vast, great army. God didn’t just put tendons and flesh on their bodies. He gave them the ability to fight back–he gave them the armor to stand firm.

Seventy-seven years later, the Jews still remain in their land. Terrorists continue attacking and fomenting hatred against them. Yet after all this time, they remain.

Why? Because God ordained it. Ezekiel prophesied about it.

In His Word, God has promised to bring restoration to his ancient people. As a first step they had to be brought back into their land. God gathered them from every country. The gathering continues up to this very day as Jesus prepares to restore his people. As Christians, we are part of that process as we pray and intercede for the Jews. When necessary, we protect them against foreign invaders and threats of terrorism.

The struggle today is more intense than ever. The terrorists in the Middle East continue to say that Jerusalem does not belong to the Jews. The “Palestinians” claim the land and insist that the Jewish people are occupiers. Please read this article which explains the history behind the Palestinian lie.

Since a Jewish state was declared in 1948, terrorists have fired rockets and missiles into Israeli territory. When US President George Bush brokered a so-called “peace” deal in 2005 that ended with Israel giving away Gaza to the “Palestinians,” the only result was more rocket fire and bloodshed. This violence against the Jews continued for over 20 years and culminated into the October 7, 2023 attacks on Israeli citizens. Hamas and residents of Gaza tortured, mutilated, burned, raped and brutalized the Jewish people. Their rallying cry was that the Jews’ land belongs to them.

The Media Sides with Terrorists

Sadly, instead of defending the Jewish people, the world and the media sides with the terrorists (Hamas and their proxies). The media incites hate against the Jewish people and parrots the lie that they are not living in the land God gave them. They say that Israel’s citizens got what they deserved. All the while, they don’t discuss the hatred and bloodshed that is part of the daily fabric of Islamic ideology. (Here is an article about that)

Islam is a Religion of Violence

Hamas builds terror tunnels instead of feeding its people. They use civilians as human shields during the wars that they start. The same people who take up for these murderers don’t realize that Islamic law would have them thrown in prison or killed if they refuse the tenets of Mohammed and the Koran. It’s insane that the LGBTQ community supports the “Palestinians” and Hamas when being gay, trans, binary, etc. would constitute death in Islam. Feminists and liberal people in general would not be tolerated in Islamic culture. Yet these are some of the very people fomenting hate against Israel and supporting Hamas.

But there’s coming a day when enemies such as Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist groups and nations will no longer tell these lies, or launch their attacks. There’s a reckoning coming and it’s described in the Bible.

The last verses of Ezekiel 37 show us something amazing:

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: ‘I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees. They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever. I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever. My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. Then the nations will know that I the Lord make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.’”

Jesus Will Be Israel’s King

These last verses tell us that one day Israel will become a nation under the authority of King Jesus. Using context from other books of the Bible, we know that Israel will be the center of the Seven-Year Tribulation. The Antichrist will fool them for a time, promising to bring peace to the region. But of course, this is all a lie. In fact, he will eventually try to kill them. Once again, it will seem as if all hope is lost. The antisemitic plan of the Antichrist will be similar to Hitler’s Final Solution. It will look like Ezekiel’s vision of dry bones—a valley of death.

But that’s when Jesus comes back. He returns on his white horse and finally the Jewish people recognize him.

"I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son. On that day the weeping in Jerusalem will be great” (Zechariah 12:10-11).

At first, the Jewish people will weep as they realize their descendants did not recognize Jesus as the Messiah and thus rejected Him. But this is only for a time. After the period of mourning is over, the Jewish people who receive Jesus as their King will reign with Him in the Millennial Kingdom, along with believers (Gentiles) who have been resurrected, or survived the Tribulation.

Revelation 19 shows that Jesus is coming back and the Antichrist’s demonic plans will be destroyed, along with his followers…

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. 'He will rule them with an iron scepter.' He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh, he has this name written:
King of kings and lord of lords.
And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried in a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, 'Come, gather together for the great supper of God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and the mighty, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, great and small.'
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.”

Until Jesus comes back to restore the Jewish people in the land of Israel, it’s important to understand that their enemies will not stop trying to harm them. They will not stop their quest to take their land.

As a nation formed by God’s sovereign hand, the United States is called to protect the Jewish people. We are called to defend their right to exist. It’s not warmongering to help a tiny nation the size of New Jersey to defend their biblical right to live in the land given to them by God, especially as they are surrounded on all sides by much larger countries that want to wipe them off the map.

Certainly, we have been involved in wars that were not necessary. But just because that’s the case doesn’t mean that every war is unnecessary. Additionally, no one is saying that all the rulers in Israel are right or justified in everything they do. There is corruption in all countries. I can assure you that the United States is just as full of corruption. Our government agencies have been involved in many demonic agendas at home and around the world. Many citizens and lawmakers living in our country still condone abortion, the LGBTQ agenda, pornography, and all sorts of evils. Nonetheless, God can still use our nation, which is full of God-fearing people, to help Israel.

Genesis 12:2-3 clearly says:

“I will make you into a great nation,
    and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
    and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
    will be blessed through you.”

The US has blessed Israel in so many ways. Whether it’s by recognizing their right to exist, or providing them with weapons to protect their people, we must defend them against terrorists who want to physically harm them and steal their land. President Trump has recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital. He has recognized the Golan Heights. He has condemned terrorism against the Jewish state. Now he has helped them destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities. In this case, he has done the right thing according to the Bible.

The War of Gog and Magog

Another prophecy in Ezekiel shows just how important it is to protect Israel from terrorist nations like Iran. Ezekiel 38 and 39 describes the future war of Gog and Magog.

During this war, many nations try to invade Israel and take its land and resources. The biggest aggressors in this war are IRAN and RUSSIA. In the Bible, Iran is called PERSIA. Interestingly enough, Iran has never ceased using this name to refer to their country. This means we are VERY CONFIDENT this passage is talking about Iran trying to invade Israel. As far as Russia, biblical scholars are at least 90% sure they are involved because the passages mention a nation to the far north of Israel—that would be Russia.

My point here is that God is telling us ahead of time that IRAN is dangerous. The scriptures show that IRAN will try to invade Israel in the future for one purpose— to destroy it.

In today’s world when we see that IRAN is trying to build nuclear bombs, we should take a hint from these passages in Ezekiel. We must protect Israel from a country that wants to destroy her.

The War of Gog and Magog hasn’t happened yet, but when it does, it will not go well for IRAN, Russia, Turkey and the other nations that try to destroy Israel. God punishes them with hailstones and widespread bloodshed. They lose their war miserably.

Ezekiel 38:18-23 declares

“This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord. In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground.I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother.I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”

We don’t know exactly when this war will happen. Some scholars say it will occur before the Tribulation, while others say it will unfold at the beginning of it. This will pave the way for the Antichrist to come in and “make peace.”

Either way, we know that IRAN is a major part of this future invasion.

God is telling us the future ahead of time and he’s letting us know about Iran. So again, if they had the ability to possess a nuclear bomb that could harm Israel, we should do everything we can to protect them. This protects our nation too because Iran wants to blow us off the map also.

Isaiah 45 and King Cyrus

Isaiah 45 is a chapter that shows how God can use rulers to bring about his purposes for Israel. In this part of the Bible, God put his plans on King Cyrus’ heart, who was the ruler of Persia. God inspired Cyrus to set the Jews free. They had been in captivity for 70 years and according to God, it was time to let them rebuild their Temple and city.

It was unheard of for a king to allow people who were previously conquered to go back and rebuild their city. Even more unbelievable is that this king would give them permission to rebuild a holy temple to a God that he didn’t worship. Yet God put these ideas on the heart and mind of King Cyrus.

“This is what the Lord says to his anointed,
to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of
to subdue nations before him
and to strip kings of their armor,
to open doors before him
so that gates will not be shut:
I will go before you
    and will level the mountains;
I will break down gates of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.
I will give you hidden treasures,
    riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the Lord,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
For the sake of Jacob (Israel) my servant,
    of Israel my chosen,
I summon you by name
and bestow on you a title of honor,
though you do not acknowledge me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
though you have not acknowledged me,
so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting
people may know there is none besides me.
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I form the light and create darkness,
    I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the Lord, do all these things.

 “You heavens above, rain down my righteousness;
let the clouds shower it down.
Let the earth open wide…

will raise up Cyrusin my righteousness:
I will make all his ways straight.
He will rebuild my city
    and set my exiles free,
but not for a price or reward,
    says the Lord Almighty.”

The Trump–Cyrus Connection

Many people have compared President Trump to King Cyrus because he has been a great friend to Israel. He has prayed at the Western Wall and recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital. His recent actions against Iran have shown he is willing to lay it all on the line for Israel. I cannot think of any other president who would have helped bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities. This is a HUGE risk. Nonetheless, Trump did it.

President Trump is not perfect, but no one else is either. Whether you like him or not, it’s obvious that God has used him in his purposes for Israel. God has used him to help protect the Jewish people. Also, we know that God puts leaders in positions for specific reasons. Perhaps Trump was placed in office for “such a time as this” to stop nations like Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

Daniel 2:21 states, “He (God) changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings.”

I don’t know what President Trump will do in the future. Of course, there are lots of “peace” plans in the works. My prayer is that there will NEVER be recognition of a Palestinian state in exchange for “peace.” You can’t make peace with people who do not want you to exist. I pray the “Deal of the Century” (Abraham Accords) will not involve making concessions for terrorist nations who want nothing more than to plunder Israel’s inheritance.

PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE FROM BILL KOENIG WHICH DISCUSSES THE IMPLICATIONS OF THE ABRAHAM ACCORDS.

Below is an excerpt from Mr. Koenig’s article: Keep in mind that Bill Koenig is an expert on the Middle East and well-versed in what the Bible says about Israel’s covenant land—He wrote a book called Eye to Eye: The Consequences of Dividing Israel, which documents all the natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods, fires, and snowstorms, etc. which have hit the United States during times of “negotiation” over Israel’s land. Mr. Koenig is very appreciative of President Trump and they are good friends. In fact, Mr. Koenig has advised him about Israel and the Bible. Let’s pray Trump heeds any warnings given by Mr. Koenig.

Below is warning from Mr. Koenig regarding the Abraham Accords

The Real Goal: Economic Integration, Not the Bible’s Covenant Land Promises

“Trump’s inner circle — particularly through figures like Steve Witkoff — is pushing to finalize more Arab normalization deals in record time. This is being cast as peace diplomacy, but the driving engine is business.

Trump is financially entangled with the Gulf region. His real estate empire spans Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and in Oman. He’s building the tallest hotel tower in the world in Dubai, his family is developing crypto partnerships in the Emirates, and aligning U.S. foreign policy with multi-trillion-dollar Gulf investment commitments in the U.S.

This isn’t diplomacy. This is transactional geopolitics, where Israel becomes a chess piece on a larger economic board.

What concerns me most is this: President Trump believes money can ‘solve’ the Middle East. That’s a profound miscalculation. Because this land — Israel’s land — is not governed by economic terms. It is covenant land, and history documented in my book, “Eye to Eye” the consequences of tampering with it are absolute.

Two-State Pressure and the Sunni Demands (the article continues)

The Sunni countries President Trump is negotiating with are demanding a two-state outcome. Saudi King Salman and the Saudi foreign minister have made their position crystal clear: no two-state, no normalization.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is more flexible in tone, preferring a phased approach — normalize now, deliver a Palestinian state later. But the destination remains the same. And Trump and Steve Witkoff, in a rush to secure deals, are aligning U.S. policy to that roadmap.

This isn’t speculation. It’s happening.

And for Israel, the pressure is enormous. Netanyahu’s coalition is already under threat from within. If he pauses the Gaza war or agrees to foreign oversight in postwar territory, his government could collapse, triggering early elections and a reconfiguration of the Knesset.”

I suggest reading the entire article to get the full scope.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT TRUMP:

Even more important, please read through the OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT TRUMP which lays out the many reasons why the covenant land of Israel SHOULD NEVER BE DIVIDED —-THERE IS A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN SIGN THE LETTER AS WELL. HERE IS THE LINK

It begins by stating:

“We are deeply concerned that such an approach may again be taking shape. A phased plan with Arab state buy-in, tied to Palestinian reforms, still moves toward division. Israel’s right to these territories was recognized in 1967 and remains uncontested under historical precedent. Peace cannot be secured by redrawing these lines.”

The Ten Core Points in the letter are:

1. Israel’s land is covenant land. Dividing it has consistently led to instability and consequences (Genesis 15:18; Joel 3:2).

2. Gaza was relinquished for peace. It was turned into a launchpad for attacks. It is now being retaken at a great cost.

3. No president or nation can override the historic, legal, and biblical title to Judea and Samaria.

4. The consequences following the first plan’s release on January 28, 2020 —whether political or providential—were deeply disruptive.

5. Proposals based on conditional two-state frameworks, even phased, still project division.

6. The Abraham Accords stopped Israel’s sovereignty over 132 Jewish communities. That stop should not become permanent policy.

7. Land division has not produced peace—it has entrenched hostility.

8. Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria is lawful under international law, not an obstacle to peace.

9. U.S. policy should affirm Israel’s security and integrity—not pressure it into future withdrawals.

10. This is a decisive moment to strengthen Israel’s sovereignty, not place it back on the table.

In the end, we must always remember that God has a plan for Israel and for those who love him. One day we know that Jesus will return and restore the earth. As believers, we are saved by His blood and we can look forward to eternity with Him. In the meantime, prophetic events are moving forward. Israel and Jerusalem will continue to be controversial and people will keep telling lies when it comes to the land. Many will blame Israel for the turmoil in the Middle East. But as Christians we know the truth. God’s end time plan for Israel is in the Bible and we should all understand it. Man’s plans will always fall apart, but God’s promises and prophetic plans will come to pass.

GOD’S PROMISES TO ISRAEL

It’s important to understand that Israel isn’t just any nation. The Bible is full of the promises that God made to Israel. The Church has not replaced Israel. Instead, we are both part of God’s plan for redemption.

As those who know Jesus as Messiah, we are instructed to pray for Israel when they are in trouble. As the world turns against them, we must pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

As a nation, we have a responsibility to protect Israel when enemies threaten her, or try to take her land.

There are big consequences for those who want to encourage Israel to give up their biblical inheritance.

Joel 3 states:

“In those days and at that time,
when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
I will gather all nations
and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat
There I will put them on trial
for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel,
because they scattered my people among the nations
    and divided up my land.

Zechariah 12: 1-5 states:

Jerusalem’s Enemies to Be Destroyed

12 A prophecy: The word of the Lord concerning Israel.
“The Lord, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares: ‘I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness,” declares the Lord. “I will keep a watchful eye over Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations. Then the clans of Judah will say in their hearts, ‘The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the Lord Almighty is their God.’”

These verses show us that not only will God restore Israel, but he will judge any nation that tries to divide their land. All the countries that try to “move Jerusalem” will be punished.

God’s Promises are Not Void

For those who think God’s promises for Israel are null and void, here are just some verses that tell us that anyone who believes this is either ignoring scripture, or ignorant about what it says.

Perhaps one of the best passages to read is from Romans 11:

“I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.  God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew…
Again, I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.  But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!
I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.”Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but tremble. For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
All Israel Will Be Saved
I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,26 and in this way[e] all Israel will be saved. As it is written:
“The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
And this ismy covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”
As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience,so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may nowreceive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you.For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.”

These verses tell us that GOD HAS NEVER FORGOTTEN OR FORSAKEN THE JEWISH PEOPLE.

As the scriptures say, they are the natural branches on the olive tree. The Gentiles are the wild ones which are grafted in. For a time, the Jews will be blinded to the truth of who Jesus is. But this won’t last forever. There’s coming a great moment in history where their eyes will be opened, and they will see Jesus as the Messiah. When this happens, it will be like LIFE FROM THE DEAD as verse 15 describes. In fact, that is the last part of Ezekiel 37 being fulfilled where the skeletons that were given skin and organs–those dry bones that came to life—well, finally, the Jewish people in the nation of Israel will accept Jesus as their King and Messiah—his spirit will be within them— talk about LIFE FROM THE DEAD.

Many Christians have never read these scriptures and that’s a shame because it’s as plain as day that GOD IS NOT FINISHED WITH THE JEWS. They were brought back into their land for a purpose. That purpose is restoration and redemption which will come through Jesus the Messiah. No, it hasn’t happened yet…BUT IT WILL.

Other verses that show God’s promises to Israel are FOREVER….

Isaiah 41:8-9

“But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham My friend…..you are my servant; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.”

Ezekiel 16: 60, 62.

“Nevertheless, I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.”

Deuteronomy 14:2

“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.”

Psalm 135:4

“For the Lord has chosen Jacob to be his own, Israel to be his treasured possession.”

An Unbreakable Covenant

Also, keep in mind that God made a covenant with the Jewish people when he chose Abraham to be their seed. This wasn’t just any covenant- it was a BLOOD COVENANT!  Those kinds of covenants cannot be broken.

God cannot break his own covenant.

God entered into a covenant with Abraham and this is described in Genesis 15.

This covenant was an unconditional, binding, everlasting promise. The fulfillment depended on GOD, not Abraham. God said this covenant would stand FOREVER! Abraham, of course, had to believe and obey.

Abraham did believe and obey as seen in the verses below. Abraham took his son Isaac to Mt. Moriah to be sacrificed.  God saw Abraham’s faithfulness and obedience and because of that God provided a ram to be sacrificed instead of Isaac. This foreshadowed God sending his only son Jesus, to be sacrificed on the cross.  Jesus would come through Abraham’s family line. But notice in the verses below that GOD SWORE by himself to GUARANTEE THE FULFILLMENT of the covenant. (See Genesis 22:16 TLB)

“I, the Lord, have sworn by myself that because you have obeyed me and have not withheld even your beloved son from me, I will bless you with incredible blessings and multiply your descendants into countless thousands and millions, like the stars above you in the sky, and like the sands along the seashore. They will conquer their enemies, and your offspring will be a blessing to all the nations of the earth—all because you have obeyed me.”

Genesis 12: 1-3 describes the covenant

“Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee.  And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.  And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curse thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Abraham was obedient to God and went to the land God promised him.  So, God told him this:  Genesis 13: 14-17

“And the Lord said unto Abram…….. Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward.  For all the land which thou see, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever.  And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.  Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.”

God gets specific about the breadth of the land in Genesis 15: 5,7 and 18, NKJV

“Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them…. so shall your descendants be….I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit with Abram, saying: ‘To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates…..'”

Genesis 17:2, 4-8 speaks of the covenant:

“Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers………..
“As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram ; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”

God is clear that he has made a covenant with Abraham and his descendants.  Who are his descendants?  Isaac and Jacob of course!

From the Old Testament we know Isaac is the father of Jacob and the twelve tribes of Israel are descended from Jacob.  Thus, the nation of Israel is under God’s everlasting covenant. It included them becoming a great nation, as well as the land they would inherit.  But, more importantly it included the promise that the Messiah would come from this Jewish family line- that Messiah is Jesus!  Jesus would come from the family line of the tribe of Judah.  He would be “the coming one” promised to the nation.

Even though much of the Jewish people do not recognize Jesus as Messiah, this does not negate God’s covenant.  Keep in mind that the fulfillment of the covenant is based on God’s faithfulness, not the faithfulness of the people.  The blessings of the covenant are certainly contingent upon obedience to God, but the promises of the covenant remain and God swore by himself to fulfill them.  Even though the nation of Israel has been disobedient, as evidenced by the stories of the Old Testament, they have not lost the promises of God. In fact, the Bible is very clear that God has a great plan of restoration for the Jewish nation.

We also know that through Jesus, Gentiles are now part of the family of God.  Gentiles were adopted into the family when Christ died on the cross.  This astounding blessing came through the lineage of the Jewish Patriarchs- Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  What is also amazing is that all who receive Christ (Jews and Gentiles) inherit God’s blessings and become like royalty.

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession so that you may proclaim the excellencies of HIM who has called you out of darkness and into HIS marvelous light.”  1 Peter 2:9
“For he chose us in HIM before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.  In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.” Ephesians 1: 4-5.

God chose the nation of Israel to be a light to the nations and to first receive the Torah-the Word of God.  He chose the nation of Israel to be the lineage of his Son, Jesus. Without this, the plan of God would not have come to fruition.  Jesus dying on the cross was part of this plan.   The times of the Gentiles are here, but God is not done with the nation of Israel.  He will fulfill the covenant he made with them.

Here are more verses which show God’s plan of restoration for Israel:

“So don’t be afraid, O Jacob my servant; don’t be dismayed, O Israel; for I will bring you home again from distant lands, and your children from their exile.  They shall have rest and quiet in their own land, and no one shall make them afraid.  For I am with you and I will save you, says the Lord.  Even if I utterly destroy the nations where I scatter you, I will not exterminate you……”  Jeremiah 30:10-11 TLB
“Hear the word of the Lord, you nations; proclaim it in distant coast lands:
‘He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.’
For the Lord will deliver Jacob and redeem them from the hand of those stronger than they.”  Jeremiah 31:10-11 NIV
Therefore say, “This is what the Sovereign Lord says; Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.”  Therefore say; “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.”  Ezekiel 11:16-17
“‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land.”  Ezekiel 34:11-13
“I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel, and they shall rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again, and they shall plant vineyards and gardens and eat their crops and drink their wine.  I will firmly plant them there upon the land that I have given them; they shall not be pulled up again.”  Amos 9:14, TLB
“At that time, I will gather you together and bring home again, and give you a good name, a name of distinction among the peoples of the earth, and they will praise you when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says the Lord.” Zephaniah 3:20 TLB.

One of my favorites is from Ezekiel 36: 26-28

“I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land.  I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.   And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.  You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.”

The truth is that GOD WILL RESTORE THE LAND OF ISRAEL AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE ONE DAY. THEY WILL RECEIVE A NEW HEART. FROM THAT DAY FORWARD EVERYTHING WILL BE MADE NEW.

Jesus is coming back. That’s a fact. He’s coming for his Bride and he’s going to restore his ancient people, the Jews. They will finally recognize Him as the Groom (Savior) and say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.”

Until then we must pray for the peace of Jerusalem knowing that the Jew and Gentile are what God calls the “one new man.” They are both part of God’s olive tree.

“For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace.” Ephesians 2:14-15.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace and there will be no peace on earth until he comes back and rules and reigns among both Jew and Gentile. Many rulers will try to obtain this peace, but only JESUS will achieve it.

Until then, keep your eyes and ears open as a watchman on the wall for Israel.

“I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth,” Isaiah 62:6-7.

Don’t be fooled by promises of peace in the Middle East that will supposedly come through men brokering “peace deals.” Instead we should pray that God uses our leaders to do the “biblical thing” when it comes to Israel. As US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee says, “Mr. President, the only voice that matters is God’s voice.” Continue to pray for President Trump as he works through all the issues in the Middle East.

We should always be looking up because our redemption draws near. Do not put hope in this world, but put hope in the One who will return and restore all things.

Hallelujah!

If you are interested, this is an article I wrote in 2023 after the October 7 terror attacks on Israel. It reminds us to be watchmen on the wall.

Additionally, I wrote an article in October 2024 about the giant skeletons (Skellys) that have become a phenomenon. Their appearance reminded me of Ezekiel’s vision of dry bones…. here is the link to that article.
